We spend a term preparing for each of the two concerts a year – before Christmas and around Easter. There are no auditions, so if you enjoy singing, have some previous experience, and can read music a little, do come and join us.
On 6 December we will be performing excerpts from Bach Christmas Oratorio and other Christmas music at St John’s, Cauldwell Hall Road in Ipswich. Rehearsals start on Wednesday 10 September.
We will be singing Mendelssohn Elijah with the Dorian Singers on 9 May 2015 at St John’s, Felixstowe.
What do we sing?
As you can see, it’s not just Bach; – our huge repertoire covers a vast range of baroque, classical and modern choral music. We choose it because it is wonderful both to sing and to hear!
Where do we perform?
In churches and concert venues in Ipswich, Felixstowe and Harwich. Sometimes we perform at Snape Maltings. We frequently join other choirs when a large sound is required.
We meet every Wednesday evening during the Spring and Autumn school terms, at Rosehill School, Derby Road, Ipswich.
(This is opposite Rosehill Road, just on the South side of the railway bridge.) School term dates
Rehearsals last from 7.30 to 9.30, with a short refreshment break at half-time. They are, often quite hard work, but are always enormously enjoyable. Rehearsals for our concert on 6 December begin on Wednesday 10 September.
Why not turn up and give us a try? You will be very welcome
